Hack The North 2014

You want a slice of pizza, so you go an buy it , but then you look at the prices and see that one slice costs $4 and a whole pizza is 7$. You feel a bit ripped off. Pizzazz is meant to change this.

We have created a service where you can meet and contact people within a specific area, such as a university campus.  Now all you have to do is post that you want to share a pizza with, you end up buying more pizza for the same price as a slice. Everybody wins.

We have created this website as a challenge for the Hack The North 2014 hackathon.
I have worked all over the stack, I was responsible for all the backend work. I have implemented the login/signup part. And I have worked with the message sending algorithm.  Everything has been done in PHP and mySQL. I have helped my team learn HTML and CSS, and with other parts of JavaScript they were struggling with.
The event took two days to complete, we were done most of the technical work in the first day and the last we mostly focused on the presentation and the design of it all.
It was a great experience, I have learned a lot about working with other people and I have developed more appreciation for version control and using Git as a method of organizing our code.

I have set up a Git repository on my own server that we could all connect to, this made it easier to keep our code private without paying for private hosting from another service.

I would definitely encourage everybody to attend such an event at least once, the people I have meet there are very eye opening and you get to share ideas with people who are just as passionate about technology.

So far we do not have plans to further develop the website, we are going to see the sort of input we get from users and depending on that we will adjust.

You are more than welcomed to visit the website by clicking heret
